I am vegan. I love to cook and bake. I love to talk about cooking and baking. I love to learn, and I love to share around. I wanted a page devoted just to that! I do not live with vegans. My husband Blake and two teenage boys Quin and Luke are meat loving eaters. But we have learned to cook and create together! My travelling over the years has introduced me to a variety of spices and recipes. Enjoy the browsing and hopefully you too will want to try some out!
It’s asparagus season. And if you are like me, you probably like to take advantage of the seasonal veggies when they are at their freshest!
This is a very easy and very tasty dish! You can substitute gluten free pasta or a fresh pasta.
A delicious vegetarian recipe that I altered using the veggies I already had in my fridge. I didn’t have enough fresh tomatoes so I used tinned. I was also out of peppers and decided to use chunks of sweet potato instead.
Years ago while I travelled throughout Indonesia, this dish was my staple!

As with all of my cooking, I like to try new recipes. I have made several different vegan burgers and some have been great and some, well not so much.
This one I have made before and it was a good one.
The only thing I did differently was I added more brown rice and some gluten free bread crumbs as I found it a bit too sticky. Oh and I almost always add more spices!!

I live with three meat eaters. While my husband Blake and our two teenage boys Quin and Luke would prefer to eat meat, they do on occasion enjoy some vegan meals.
But my favourite time is when I am on my own for dinner. It allows for some creative fun which is where the Ginger Tofu came from. So easy. So fast. So nutritious and so yummy!!!!
I plant fresh garlic every year. This year I planted from the saved bulbs from the previous year and added a new variety shared by my sister Christine who lives in Port Moody, BC.
